About Us
We are an out and proud LGBTQ+ Catholic Ministry of the three Catholic parishes of Palm Springs CA: Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Solitude and St. Theresa. Empowered by the inherent dignity and radical inclusion of Baptism, we welcome all unconditionally and without judgement, in a spirit of respect, compassion and sensitivity.
Our faith sharing ministry of accompaniment is founded on the hopes and promises of the Good News message of the Risen Jesus. We are life-long practicing Catholics, returning Catholics, converts to Catholicism and people of faith of all denominations. We believe that we are wonderfully made, created LGBTQ+ in God’s image and likeness. We believe that our sexuality and sexual orientation are gifts from God that call us to serve God’s people in a unique way by proclaiming from the margins the love of God for all without exception. We seek communion with and participation in our Parish family life, hoping to expand the size of our Church’s tent.
We generally meet the third Wednesday of each month on church property in an emotionally and spiritually safe, sacred space. We host (and co-host with other Parish ministries) special gatherings and prayerful sacramental celebrations, including participation in the annual Palm Springs Pride Weekend and our own unique Annual LGBTQ+ retreat. We inform and educate ourselves on a range of topics related to our LGBTQ+ community and the Church. Our regular gatherings focus on sharing our faith journeys, hospitality, and fellowship.
We dream of a time when love is the driving force in our Church and in our world. We pray, through the intercession of Mary Immaculate our patron saint, along with the Communion of Saints, that through God’s mercy our witness and work will bring about justice. And we pray, that through our ministry of healing and reconciliation, that our gifts will be fully realized and that we will always be ready to answer the call along with all missionary disciples, to build the Kingdom of God on earth as in heaven.
